Explore More IL

Henry Public Library is now offering its library cardholders free or discounted passes to museums, science centers, and many more attractions through Explore More Illinois.

Explore More Illinois is a cultural pass program that allows Illinois public library cardholders to get offers from museums, park districts, historical societies, performing and visual arts centers, and other attractions. Explore More Illinois is free and can be accessed 24/7 from any computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Adults age 18 years and older can log into the ExploreMoreIL Portal using their library card number and pin to see available attractions and dates. Each attraction sets their own requirements, so please read the offer's details carefully.

Current attractions include the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (Springfield), Chicago Children’s Museum, and Peoria Riverfront Museum. New attractions are added on a regular basis so be sure to check back frequently.

Explore More Illinois is a service of the Reaching Across Illinois Library System (RAILS). RAILS is funded by a grant from the Illinois State Library through the Office of the Secretary of State Jesse White and provides a number of different programs and services for Illinois libraries and library users.

Henry Republican

The Henry Public Library has digitized our newspaper microfilm. This will allow for easier and more efficient access both for researchers and our staff. The digitization includes making the text of the newspapers searchable. In some cases, the quality of the microfilm makes this impossible, these items are still available for viewing. The archives are available at henrypublic.advantage-preservation.com.

Currently the earliest newspaper is from 1896 and the latest is in 2012 (there are gaps because we do not have all of the historical newspapers).

This project was funded by donations and the Library Per Capita Grant from the Secretary of States Office.

Please call the library at 364-2516 with questions or to schedule a demonstration.
